MJ'S Cakes has not officially won any awards...as of yet!!!

MJ herself though has won quite a few medals while working for award winning Heavens Bakery in Napier, Hawkes Bay and also Hastings City New World in Hastings, Hawkes Bay.

In the gallery is some of the medals and certificates that MJ has been awarded.

In 2006 MJ, while still the Production Manager at Heavens Bakery,created and baked to PERFECTION the first gourmet fruit pie that took out the supreme award at the annual Bakels Pie competition in Auckland.

In 2011 MJ,while working for Hastings City New World created and baked nearly to PERFECTION a silver medal gourmet fruit pie in the annual Bakels Pie competition held in Auckland.

BUT......

The biggest thrill of MJ'S career so far was in June 2010 at the Auckland Fine foods and BIANZ bakery competition when MJ was asked to participate in a live cake decorating competition with celebrities.

MJ'S Cakes was operating through MJ's other business at that time which was Heavens Bakery & Cafe(Heavens Bakery's first franchise cafe).

MJ had two team mates Dan and Steve who are famous for creating the Huffer clothing label(they came in second place), Jay Jay Feeny(the edge)was teamed up with Sean from Loaf bakery in Auckland (Third place)and Alison Mau was teamed up with Rob from Rob's Patisserie in Ponsoby, Auckland and they took out first place with a gorgeous 4 tier heart cake.

Such a fun filled event that was organized by the wonderful team at Weston milling New Zealand.
